MND Association support groups in the East Midlands happening in January 2023

Please find below details of the various MND Association Support Groups that are due to take place in the East Midlands in the coming month. 

 

Friday 6th January, 1pm-3pm – Mollie’s Support Group (Derbyshire)

Occurs on the 1st Friday of every month

A group for anyone affected by MND - patients, families & carers - offering peer and professional support. Access to additional hospice services for people living in Derbyshire.

Thursday 12th January, 2.15pm-3.45pm – 2nd Thursday Support Group (Nottinghamshire)

Occurs on the 2nd Thursday of every month

An opportunity for people whose lives have been affected by MND to get-together in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere in order to share with one another and learn more about the issues surrounding MND.

Tuesday 17th January, 1pm-3pm – Cuppa and a Chat (Lincolnshire)

Occurs on the 3rd Tuesday of every month

A friendly Cuppa and a Chat with fellow people living with MND, families and carers.

Location: St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice, Hawthorn Road, Lincoln, LN2 4QX

 

 

Thursday 26th January, 11am-12.30pm – South Lincolnshire Support Group (Lincolnshire)

NOTE – new day and time

Occurs on the 4th Thursday of every month

Enjoy refreshments and a chance to meet other people living with MND, plus opportunities to access therapy services from St Barnabas Hospice.

Thursday 26th January, 3pm-4.30pm – Central and East Midlands Zoom Support Group (online)

NOTE – new Zoom link and passcode

Occurs on the 4th Thursday of every month

For people with MND, carers and families, who may be unable to attend face to face support groups in your area, or if you would like to attend more than one support group per month – all welcome!

The North Notts Support Group will not take place in January but is expected to return in February:

 

Wednesday 1st February, 11am-12.30pm – North Notts Support Group (Nottinghamshire)

NOTE – new time

Occurs on the 1st Wednesday of every month.

A friendly meeting for people living with MND and their families who may struggle to get to Nottingham for the 2nd Thursday Support Group.

The NELSWeLaR Support Group will not take place in January but is expected to return in February:

 

Thursday 16th February, 2pm-3.30pm – NELSWeLaR Support Group (North East Leicestershire, South West Lincolnshire and Rutland)

Occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month

A support group for people living close to the Grantham area, a chance to meet other people living with MND and enjoy a friendly cuppa and a chat.

Location: St Barnabas Wellbeing Centre, 86 Barrowby Road, Grantham, NG31 8AF

 

 

The Carers Support Group will not take place in January but is expected to return in February or March, further details to follow.
