Guy

Guy has been known to EATS since he was three years old and had his first electronic voice output device when he was eight.

Guy has had different devices over the years having been supported by his family, school and professionals, e.g. speech and language therapy, to ensure he is able to communicate as well as possible.

As Guy learned and advanced more in his knowledge and education, technology also developed. Guy was enabled to access different devices in different ways. As Guy says in his video, all access methods have their challenges but he has found, so far, that access via eye gaze suits him best. Guy has been using eye gaze since 2013.

Any communication method that is not speech takes more time to get a point across and much of what Guy says was pre-programmed by him for the purpose of the recording.

If you have any questions you would like to ask us or Guy, please send them via our email eats.lincoln@nhs.net

Finally, a big thank you to Guy and his family for helping us put together this video.
