Important Information if we have supplied you with a Grid Pad device running Windows 10

Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 10 software on October 14, 2025. This means your device will not run updates.  This particularly applies if you use access the internet via your device.

What if I don’t use my Grid Pad online?

If your Grid Pad is never connected to the internet, you are not affected by the changes happening on October 14, 2025. You can continue using your Grid Pad as you do now, and there’s no increased risk to your safety or data.

What does this mean if I do use my Grid Pad online?

·           If you use your Grid Pad online (e.g. for email, web browsing, video calls), after October 14th your Grid pad won’t be protected from new viruses, scams, or hacking attempts.

·           Apps may stop working properly: Over time, common programs may no longer support Windows 10, which could lead to problems using them.

What’s the solution?

The safest long-term option is to upgrade your Grid Pad’s version of Windows to Windows 10 IoT (Internet of Things). This version is specifically designed for secure, long-term use on specialist devices like the Grid Pad.

Windows 10 IoT will continue to receive security updates and support until at least 2032, giving you several more years of safe and reliable use online.

However, this upgrade cannot be installed on your current device. To solve this, we will be replacing existing Grid Pad 12 devices with Grid Pad 12 models that have Windows IoT pre-installed. This ensures your device stays secure, without changing how you use it.

What do I need to do?

You can choose if you would like to proceed with an upgrade. There is no cost to you.

If yes - please contact us and we will process your request as soon as we can. As this update affects many users, we’re working hard to complete all upgrades promptly — and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this process.

If no - we recommend disconnecting your Grid Pad from Wi-Fi from October 14, 2025, onward. This will reduce your risk of security breaches and help keep your device safe.

If you have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Yours Sincerely

Lincoln Electronic Assistive Technology Service
